Level 3 Te Ao Haka (L3TAH)

Overview

This is a full-year course and will explore the significance of narratives (he taonga tuku iho) as a catalyst for context and composition. Te Ao Haka will incorporate the key elements and features that are uniquely Māori and express these through performance.

What will I learn?

    • Explore how innovation and creativity in Te Ao Haka is informed by interpretation of context

    • Explore how Te Ao Haka is influenced by place (local, national, global), and by time (past, present, and future)

    • Explore their own role in the promotion and sharing of te ao Māori.

    • Explore creativity in performance and understand their role as a part of a wider group.

    • Explore their point of view through observing components, elements and features of performance
