Level 3 Pathways (L3PAT)

What will I learn?

The purpose of this course is to support students in their transition out of school by:

• Exploring options, both academic and vocational

• Promoting conversations about the future

• Developing skills for the future

How will I learn?

A student-led inquiry will drive the development of an Individual Education Plan (IEP). This process will involve students, parents and staff. The IEP will involve the setting of specific goals for the duration of the course which may include:

• Work placements

• Visits to tertiary education providers

• Attending presentations

• Completion of NCEA and non-NCEA courses

What should I have done already?

There are no pre-requisites to complete this course. However, a meeting during Term 3 or 4 between the student, parent and teacher is required.

Where does this programme lead?

This course prepares students for life beyond Mount Aspiring College and provides the opportunity to focus upon specific future goals.

How is the course assessed?

1. On-going through review of fortnightly (effort) grades across all subjects and whānau

2. Internal NCEA assessments

End of course qualification

Credits towards NCEA Level 3. Vocational Pathways Award
