Physical Education Leadership (L2/L3 PEL)

Overview

New in 2021, this course is suited to both Year 12 and 13 students who are interested in sport and recreation. Physical Education Leadership is a unit standard based programme that is suitable for students of all abilities. It will not have the same academic focus of the NCEA Physical Education courses that are offered at senior level. It is primarily focused around practical activities and leadership opportunities. This is a partnership course delivered in conjunction with the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT). Students who gain 21 or more credits are eligible for the MIT Certificate of Achievement in Sports Studies.

What should I have done already?

There are no prerequisites for this course. A passion for physical activity, leadership and coaching would be beneficial.

Assessment regulations are held in line with MAC and MIT policy.

Where does this course lead?

Achievement in Sports Studies. This course can lead to further Tertiary Education in the sports and exercise field. Directly toward the MIT Certificate in Applied Sport and Recreation.
