Year 8 Māori Performing Arts (8MPA)
Overview
This is an introductory module to Māori Performing Arts that builds on knowledge and skills in both language, movement, and culture.
What will I learn?
Understand key features of movement and describe how they are linked through whakapapa.
Waiata using single poi.
Pūrakau Creation and Ngāi Tahu and how they are expressed through haka and waiata.
Demonstrate principles of manaakitanga and mana in a cultural context through haka pōwhiri.
