Connecting with community through food related opportunities to make a difference.
Students will develop their nutritional knowledge in terms of sustainable food practices, planning food for individuals with specific needs. Through interviews and research students will gain an appreciation of interpersonal/societal issues and how they affect people in their day-to-day life.
Students will gain understanding by participating in practical food-related activities that encompass a wide variety of contexts. They will be encouraged to look at local produce and use this in a sustainable manner, specific nutrition for individuals, participate in health promotion.
The prerequisite for this course is Level 1 Food and Nutrition or HOD approval.
